Rotel Cheese Dip with Sausage

About the Recipe

Use any Fresh Stoysich Sausage such as Hot Italian, Regular Italian, Cajun, Chorizo, or your personal favorite. For added flavor, add a bit of finely chopped smoked Andouille for a smokey and garlicky punch of heat.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Fresh Stoysich Sausage*

  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese (shredded)

  • 2 10-oz cans Rotel Tomatoes and Green Chilis

  • 8 oz Cream cheese (cubed)

  • Green onions (sliced for garnish)

  • *any one of our fresh sausages are perfect for this recipe

  • **can also use 32 ounces of Velveeta cheese to replace the cheddar cheese and cream cheese

Preparation

  1. In a large skillet, add sausage and use a wooden spoon or spatula to break up the sausage. Cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes, until browned. Drain the grease from the sausage.

  2. Transfer the sausage to a Crock Pot. Add the cheddar cheese and diced tomatoes, and stir. Dot the top with chunks of cream cheese.

  3. Slow cook the sausage Rotel dip on low for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until melty and bubbly.

  4. Serve immediately with torilla chips or let cool and can be stored for 3 days. Reheat to serve.
