About the Recipe
These festive and fun July 4th Pretzel Rods are not only delicious – with that perfect combination of sweet and salty they are beautiful as well.

Ingredients
Pretzel rods
Candy Melts and or Bakers White Chocolate
Red, White and Blue Sugars & Sprinkles, dots, and stars
Preparation
FOR THE DIP METHOD:Place a piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet. Melt the candy. Coat the pretzels in white first.
TIP: If your candy melts don’t remain to thinck to dip into, add a little shortening. This will loosen the candy and make it easier to coat your pretzels.
The key to coating the pretzel without the candy dripping everywhere is in the temperature of the candy. Not too hot and not too cold.
Once the candy is the right consistency it’s time to dip. Put in a bowl and use a spoon to drizzle and coat the pretzel.
Swirl the pretzel to let any extra candy drip off and tap on the side of the bowl.

FOR THE COVERED IN SPRINKLES METHOD: Cover the pretzel rod in the melted candy (white) and spoon or pour sprinkles on immediately.
(Place finished pretzel on a wax paper lined cookie sheet.)
FOR THE DRIZZLE METHOD: Cover pretzel rods in melted white candy (like the sprinkles method), place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in the refrigerator to harden (about 10 minutes). While the candy is hardening, melt two additional colors (blue and red). Pour the melted candy into small piping bags or small zip top bags. Close the top with a rubber band and snip the ends. In a back and forth motion add one color at a time. While candy is still wet add patriotic sprinkles. Place finished pretzels on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper to harden. What is a Pretzel Pocket?
